How to Tape a Hula Hoop

Hey there, this is Sarah. I’m the creator of the Hooping with Kids Teacher Training Program.
These tutorials will show you how to tape a hula hoop.

Materials you will need to tape your own hula hoop:

First, you will need some hula hoops to decorate. You can either make them yourself or buy them in bulk here. I use these for all of my hooping with kids parties. They have lasted for 5+ years: Pull Buoy 8003D Deluxe Hula Hoop Set, 36″ Size, Assorted Colors

Pretty tapes to decorate your hoop:

This tape has some grip to it so it’s great to help the hoop stick to you: JVCC Stage-Set Spike Tape: 1/2 in. x 50 yds. (Fluorescent Green)

This tape is easy for kids and beginners to use:

Duct tape is fabulous but takes some time and getting used to. Cut it in half to make it easier to decorate with. You can buy one roll, like this fabulous nerds tape:
Duck Brand 283171 Nerds Printed Duct Tape, 1.88 Inches x 10 Yards, Single Roll

Or save money and buy duct tape in bulk:
